The pressure drops. The tension remains.
The meeting is over, the project delivered, the evening is actually yours. But your body doesn’t get the message. The shoulders stay up, the head keeps counting, and even on vacation, it takes days to really arrive, if at all.

When the body stops shutting down.
Under stress, the body releases cortisol and adrenaline – useful if recovery follows. If the recovery fails, the hormone level also remains above. The consequences are physical, unimagined: poor sleep, high blood pressure, an irritated digestive system, a weakened immune system, declining concentration.
The tricky: you get used to it. The constant tension feels normal at some point – until the body sends a clearer sign. Then it is often late. It is wiser to recognize the condition as long as it can still be easily rotated.
This is not a test and a diagnosis. But if you have nodded at several points, it is worth once to have accurate measurement of what really happens at night.
Typical Questions and Observations
These indications are not self-diagnosis. They help to arrange the personal concern for a specialist discussion.
- You are tense, even if nothing urgent is pending.
- You notice that you are irritable faster than before – and do not like it yourself.
- On vacation, it takes days to arrive — if at all.
- Your body reports: Tension, stomach, palpitations, headache.
- You can hardly do “nothing” without having a bad conscience.
- They grab something in the evening that helps to come down — glass, tablet, screen.
Why people who wear a lot?
responsibility means: constant accessibility, decisions that no one takes, no clear boundary between role and person. The stress system never gets the signal “now it’s over”. It remains.
And the typical reaction exacerbates it: Those who are under pressure usually give gas instead of pause – even more efficient, even more disciplined. This shifts the limit, but it does not lower the basic voltage. At some point, the will carries what the body no longer carries.
No guess. One finding.
At re:NOW we do not advise. We measure how much your system is under tension: stress hormones such as cortisol, heart rate variability as a measure of your recovery ability, blood pressure, inflammation levels, sleep. This makes visible what otherwise feels diffuse.
This creates a clear picture of your stress – and a way to downgrade the system: medically dosed movement, targeted regeneration, treatment of the physical consequences, rest that is not put on. Accompanied by doctors who listen instead of handling.

Good to
know.
Isn’t stress just part of my job?
acute stress is part of this and is even useful – it subsides after stress. It becomes problematic when the body no longer shuts down: when the tension remains, even if nothing acute is pending. This permanent state wears out — quietly, but steadily.
Can you measure chronic stress?
Yes. Stress hormones such as cortisol, heart rate variability, blood pressure progressions and inflammation levels show how much your system is under continuous voltage. So a vague feeling becomes a clear finding — the basis for targeted countermeasures.
Do I need to learn to meditate?
Only if you want. Stress regulation has many pathways – from medically dosed exercise to breathing and regeneration techniques to targeted treatment of physical consequences. We find what suits you. With us nothing has to, but it can do many things.
Does anyone know I was there?
No. Discretion is the foundation. No guest lists, no external diagnosis, no more than fifteen guests at a time. Whoever is here is invisible.
When tension no longer eases by itself.
Lasting stress requires a medical classification and a framework in which regulation can be experienced again.
Stress Retreat Germany
One Stress Retreat Germany should not reduce causes and consequences of persistent stress to relaxation. Sleep, autonomic nervous system, metabolism, movement and personal life situation are considered together at re:NOW.
The terms serve for comprehensible orientation. Which diagnosis or therapy is medically useful is decided only after personal medical assessment.
